On 2/9/18, Robert "Charlie" Ochoa lost his beloved wife, Dina, to a long battle with cancer. As he remained by Dina's side over the past several months, his family expenses have piled up with him away from work. This donation page has been established by his friends and colleagues as a way to share their love and support during this difficult time for one of the most genuine and caring men they have ever had the privilege to know.
Charlie is passionate about his faith and his family, hard work and the importance of a good laugh. He is a proud grandfather, father, and metalhead. He is a pillar of his work and church communities. His optimism is infectious and he is an absolute joy to work with. He is a friend to everyone and goes out of his way to make a positive impact. He never has a bad word to say about anyone or anything, and he never misses an opportunity to express gratitude for what he has.
During the time Dina was struggling with her health, Charlie was by her side-- emotionally and physically-- advocating, praying, and fighting for her.
Charlie told us about getting troubling news from the doctor. As we hung our heads, he assured us, "nevermind the naysayers. God has the last word," and smiled. His devotion to his family and his tenacious hope inspires us all.
Dina's health deteriorated quickly over the past few weeks. Charlie being Charlie, there was no question about what to do. He stayed home to help keep her comfortable and to savor what time he had with her. We so badly want for Charlie to have every wonderful thing this world could offer, so it is especially heart-wrenching to know that he is experiencing such a tragedy. All who know Charlie are jumping at the chance to take any ounce of pain off his shoulders in this troubled time, with words, with hope, with shared peace, and with the financial support to lift one weight while he bears another.
