OceanFolx 2025

OceanFolx is a volunteer-led program! In partnership with local Lombok women* we teach swimming, surfing, and ocean safety. Through our programs, we prevent drowning, empower women and foster stewardship for the local environment.

Our mission is to connect, empower, and inspire women to learn from and with each other in an ocean-minded, sustainability context, through time spent in and around the ocean.

Not only is the program free for our local Lombok participants, but we also give them a stipend to offset any associated costs with engaging in our programs, such as missed time working or transport costs. Donations go directly towards sponsoring local Lombok women's participation in our program.

With enough support and donations, we will be able to continue these programs long-term, prevent drowning in the community, and empowering local female leaders. By enhancing their relationship with the ocean, these women can then share their knowledge with their communities. These programs will also help our program participants develop self-confidence and leadership skills while promoting care and protection of the environment.

We are thrilled to be launching our new sponsorship program: Sea Sisters! Your investment in one of the women in our program will bolster her to become a steward of ocean safety in her community and in Indonesia at large. The woman you are matched with will send regular updates on her progress; we are on this journey together.
