The Oaxacan Coast needs your help

My name is Sara Weeks. My husband and I live part time in Puerto Angel Mexico.  A couple nights ago Hurrican Agatha made a direct hit on the beautiful little towns of Mazunte, Zipolite and Puerto Angel. The destruction is absolutely devastating!  My husband weathered the storm there with friends and is now working to help the community recover.  Amazingly, so far there have been no reports of loss of life! Thanks to a generator, and a Starlink satellite my husband and friends have been able to get messages to me sporadically. What they have said is that the beautiful, humble people of these small villages are in great need of help. Many homes are completely buried in mud, roads are destroyed and impassable. Wells are contaminated. They are all in need of basic necessities. Food, water, tarps, blankets, clothing, building materials, fuel are all in short supply.

There is a group effort being put together to get supplies to them by boat as soon as possible.  The funds donated here will be deposited into my bank account and then wired to Mexico.  I will retrieve the funds from HSBC bank Mexico and use them to purchase food, water, water purification tablets, mosquito nets, clothing, tools for cleaning up debris, fuel for generators, and any other basic necessities.  These items we will then distribute to the hardest hit communities. Truck rental for distribution is at my expense.

I realize that times are tough for most globally. However, these people are in an extremely difficult and dire situation. I'm asking today that you open your hearts and wallets to help with the recovery effort.

As a disclaimer, our property miraculously suffered only minor damage. Not a single penny will go towards me or my property. 100% of the donations will go towards aiding the local community with their most urgent needs.
