Established in 2014, The Music Project serves over 200 kids in Toronto's East End, providing music lessons to the kids who need it most.
We believe music is a right and music can change lives. We're making quality music lessons accessible to everyone -- it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from. Our lesson cost is based on family income, ranging from $2 to $15 a lesson.
All our lessons are taught by professional educators and musicians. We believe in financially supporting musicians in Toronto and providing a fair wage and positive working environment for all our teachers.
We teach our lessons out of a Model Inner City School in the Toronto District School Board, part of their Priority Schools Initiative, and we're proud to be serving Toronto's East End with this after-school partnership.
We have lessons in guitar, ukulele, piano, percussion, music foundations, and choir, and our goal is for students to work together in collaborative groups to learn the joy of making music, together!
All are welcome!
WHERE YOUR DONATION GOES
Every dollar you give goes directly to providing instrument, curriculum, and lesson subsidies. Over 50% of our families receive the highest lesson subsidy, making less than $20,000 per year. And we could not provide this program without your support.
We rely on various funding opportunities to support our program. Every dollar you donate goes directly to our music educators, subsidized instruments, curriculum, and renting our program space. Your donation can make a transformative difference in the life of a child.
This campaign will kickstart a new year and allow us to increase our capacity and purchase new instruments for more children. It will also go toward funding our artistic director, who will mentor our teachers and lead our program. Every dollar counts.
We believe in community, and we believe that music can change lives! Please give generously.
