The Michael Long Cup

Hey everyone, my name is Ethan. As apart of my studies with SEDA Group Collingwood Magpies Sport and Business Diploma. Myself and others have been selected to take part in supporting the Michael Long Cup as our Major Project. We are trying to raise money to help fund for our trip and to support the Michael Long Cup.

The Michael Long Cup is an AFL u15 Indigenous competition at TIO Stadium in Darwin. This competition is designed for Indigenous kids based in the Northern Territory to come together, have fun, and play the sport they love. These kids don't always have access to proper hydration and nutrition options so with this competition they are able to get access to the health and services they need while playing AFL. This competition is another way for the kids to engage with others, make friends, and explore the area. The activities that are provided throughout the competition will also allow for the spectators to be involved and enjoy their time as well.

My group has been picked out to travel to Darwin and provide these kids with these necessary items. In doing so we have to be able to fund raise the money needed for our flights, food, and accommodation. Also needing to fund raise money for the equipment we plan on providing for these kids. We have plenty of brilliant ideas to improve their trip and we can make it all possible with your help.

Not only are we travelling down to help with the competition side of things, but one of our main roles is to help the students have fun and provide them with the equipment to ensure their competition runs smoothly. Provide them with fun activities, warm-ups and cool downs, also clean water and food that we are planning on providing with the money raised. Being able to ensure this is an enjoyable experience for everyone is crucial to its success and that's our goal, to make sure this competition is filled with fun and laughter for everyone.

With your help we will be able to provide the best possible experience these kids deserve. For some this moment will be the best part of their year and we plan on fulfilling their dreams of a great competition
