The Matheson Family— Home Lost in Creek Fire

My cousin Kelly and her family tragically lost their home in the Creek Fire on Tuesday September 8th. Thankfully her, her husband Will, and their 3 kids (Liam 7, Connor 3, Emmett 2) are all safe and sound. All of our hearts ache for her family as they grieve the loss of their home and the exponential loss of their community. It’s hard to fully grasp the devastation and heartbreak that this community has and continues to face.
Kelly and Will are salt of the earth, good people. They both are locals to Shaver Lake and an active part of the mountain community. Even in the face of their own personal tragedy, they have been helping others in this community day in and day out. A testament to their character and to the greater culture of Shaver Lake, both Kelly and Will continue to put others before themselves and truly are a picture of the values and principles that make this community so special.
This family would never ask for help— they are the most selfless and giving family that would give the shirt off their back for those in need. It is now our turn to help them. Any donation of any amount is so greatly appreciated as they begin to pick up the pieces and rebuild their lives. These funds will assist in temporary housing expenses, food/clothing for their family, and other expenses as this family journeys into the uncharted territory of rebuilding their lives.
