Dear Friends and Supporters of Mary Ellen Crowley,
Within this past year, Mary Ellen was diagnosed with cervical cancer. After receiving three rounds of radiation and chemotherapy, the cancer has spread to her lymphatic system and into her lungs. She has made the decision to forego further treatment, as further treatment is simply not a viable option. Mary Ellen has therefore decided to move to Massachusetts to live her final months in the care of her sister Pat.
Mary Ellen is 62 years old. She has worked as the station director for LCTV Channel 7 for over 9 years, providing a valuable service for the towns and citizens of Lincoln County. I will personally testify to her countless hours of work for a very basic wage. This fund is to help Mary Ellen with a little dose of love, comfort and public acknowledgement during the time she has left.
The “Spotlight on Seniors” show owes it’s beginnings and production of more than 50 shows to Mary Ellen. During this time I have come to appreciate her as a wonderful human being and friend. The attached video is a show in which we held a very direct and candid conversation as a “Good-bye and Farewell” to her friends in Maine and Lincoln County. Mary Ellen shows up as her entirely unique self... simple, direct, practical, humble and humane.
I hope you will contribute to The Care Fund for Mary Ellen, and help give her a beautiful sendoff from Lincoln County, Maine, the place she loves as home, and must now leave all too soon.
