Sailing Solo Around the World for Nova Scotia

Covid 19 restrictions have hit Nova Scotia businesses hard and to survive the economic crisis of 2020 it is essential that 2021 be a successful year for tourism.
To try to create wider international awareness of Nova Scotia and promote the Province's unique heritage, cuisine, arts and architecture I am heading out on what will be my third racing circumnavigation of the world. Having sailed solo East around the world in the Velux 5 Oceans race- I now intend to vie for the Non-stop, West Around the World, Solo Sailing Record.
As 2021 is also the centenary year for the launch of the Province's legendary icon, the mighty 'Bluenose'- it seems appropriate that an endeavour of the sea could be so beneficial to Nova Scotia.
Through daily blogs, live streaming interviews, podcasts, photography & video all uploaded from the vessel at sea- I will keep in touch with international media giving an unparalleled account of the ordeal of sailing, upwind for 120 days around the world, solo on a 60ft boat.
Sailing this Westbound route, which has the unofficial nickname, 'The Impossible Voyage' has only ever been successfully completed 5 times before and it is therefore fitting that the craft that will take on this test of tenacity will bear the name, 'The Pride of Nova Scotia'
