The Marblehead Racial Justice Team

The Marblehead Racial Justice Team was started by Marblehead clergy in 2015. It was started with a goal of raising awareness about issues of race, power, and privilege.  The group is now secular,  includes People of Color, young adults, clergy and laity.  It has also expanded its focus to include advocacy and action. Group members lead monthly conversations about race at Abbott Library, advocate in the town and schools for increased awareness and accountability and continue to bring educational programs to town. Most recently the group supported its high school members at their vigil at the High School in response to recent acts of racism and ongoing concerns. We need your help to continue to fund the offerings of this group!   Marbleheaders and others interested in dismantling racism have asked how they might help. This is one way and no donation is too small! Next on our agenda is to move into formal non-profit status, offer programs that will better serve our young people and schools, and offer more opportunities for all people to be involved. Your donations today will help fund our January speaker, Chris Crass and our plans to have him return soon to work with the High School. All donations go to costs of providing programming as MRJT is completely by volunteers. Please consider donating early and often to this important cause. (PS Some are opting for direct donations so we don't incur a fee. That's fine! Send donations to MRJT c/o Rev. Wendy von Courter, UUCM, 28 Mugford St, Marblehead and they will go to MRJT in their entirety. Thank you to those who have done so. We've added you here as 'Offline Donations.)
