The Mannings, Charles, (Father), Charlie, (son age 20, Autistic and has significant Anxiety, have been clients of mine in the Group Practice I work for in Taunton. At this time, father and son are living in an older RV. They have essentially been homeless since Spring of 2019, when the small place they were renting became unlivable after the Landlord used toxic chemicals to try and clear a drain. This destroyed most of their possessions. They both receive Social Security and have about 1800.00 a month to live on. They are involved with the Autism Resource Center, Department of Developmental Services and efforts to find them housing have been in the works for over a year with no likely prospects in sight. They have been living in different campgrounds or being the home of a relative. This last situation is no longer an option.  Their 14 year old dog Fred,  recently had to be euthanized, they could not afford to get his remains  They are resourceful and find ways to make ends meet. With winter fast approaching we are trying to help them buy a Generator for the RV in case of power outages, so they don't freeze, should they not be able to afford a campground and have electricity and water for the RV.  Charlie is 20 years old, was homeschooled for High School after his needs were not met by their school district. He has a number of sensory issues and this makes finding a place within a Housing Authority Complex difficult. Efforts on the part of DDS, ARC and Massachusetts Social Security Disability offices are trying to help them find a home. However, due to the pandemic, there are many displaced  families with younger  children who will be given priority, Their living in an RV also means that they are not able to be considered completely homeless.
Most of the campgrounds that they have found are at least $40.00 a night and many are closed for the season. Only having an income 1200.00 a month means they have approximately 600.00 a month for food, utilities, clothing etc. They were denied EBT resources because they make more than the limit at the time allows. The support from generous people like yourself are needed as soon as possible as it is going to be a cold, snowy winter!  If you are able to donate any amount at all it will be greatly appreciated by me and the Mannings. They are a wonderful family who have managed to get by with determination, love and perseverance!

P.S. The Picture is of my dogs, I thought it would get your attention. THANKS.
