The Magical Wooden Bicycle

Donation protected
For my 30th birthday (October 18th), I am raising $$ to support the process of publishing a children's picture book I have been work on for some time now.  I wrote the book for a few reasons but certainly not limited to;

Bicycles: I love bicycles and wholeheartedly believe in how they can be leveraged to fight poverty across Sub Saharan Africa.

African Creativity: The story of creativity in Africa is often not well publicized. This book changes that. It shows that African children should not be ashamed of their up bringing but rather embrace it as just different. Often great stories are buried in what the outside world hasn't been exposed to.

Diversity: I can not remember picking up a children's book and saw myself in it or someone like me. Neither have I seen women showcased in the same high regard I hold them.  Lightly put, there are not many such children's books with these themes (gender and ethnic wise).

In the long run, I hope to leverage this book to continue to raise funds for our work at Bicycles Against Poverty.

About the book

Based in Uganda. Covers the adventures of a young child that desperately wants/needs a bike. In the end, he attempts to take matters into his own hands and make one.  Alas.......

What We Need
