The Machen's Home Fire Fund

My name is Lisa Dickey and I am the niece of Judy Machen.  In the early morning hours of 1/10/2021 the home of Judy and Carl Machen caught on fire.  The home is a complete loss as the fire spread up the siding and through the attic.  Pictures were posted in an update but basically the entire roof is gone and the interior was completely destroyed.  In addition Carl bravely ran back in the house after getting Judy safely out of the home, to save their dog Blue.  Unfortunately he was overcome with smoke and died along with the family dog.  Judy Machen has lost everything including her beloved husband, Carl, and  her dog Blue.   This fund is to help get her back on her feet.  Insurance can take many months to work out and she has lost everything and only escaped with a nightgown on, nothing else.  The money will be used to secure new housing,  replace clothing, furnishings, cosmetics, kitchen items, bedding, towels and to help subsidize the loss of income she has experienced and will be experiencing as she and Carl were a two income household.   Anything is appreciated as she navigates her new reality.  The funds will be directly given to Judy Machen via her niece who will collect and transfer to her Aunt.  Our family is truly overwhelmed and in awe of the generosity and so thankful.  This situation is awful and helping her to replace the necessities she will need just takes one more thing off of her plate so she can deal with her grief.  My Aunt is one of the strongest women I have ever met.  She is loving, caring and has always been able to get through any situation put in front of her and she will get through this as well.
