The Luke Antolick Benefit Fund

Donation protected
Luke Antolick is the 6 year old son of Alyson and Lance Antolick (from Jersey Shore, PA). When Luke was three months old, he was found unresponsive during a nap and suffered severe brain damage, resulting in Cerebral Palsy. Doctors were never able to determine what happened so it was classified as an interrupted SIDS event.  Luke struggles with every day actions and activities that most of us take for granted . He is unable to sit up, walk/stand, is non-verbal, and gets all of his nutrition through a feeding tube. Despite all of his problems, Luke is a joyful and happy boy who enjoys first grade and flashes a smile that can light up a room!

Through many years of therapy and different treatments, Luke has made tremendous progress and continues to exceed expectations. One of the most helpful treatments for Luke has been Stem Cell Therapy. Luke has had four treatments to date, and has another one scheduled for January 2020! The first two were in Panama City, Panama and the most recent treatments were in Phoenix, AZ.

When Luke receives stem cell therapy, it helps open new pathways in his brain allowing him to develop new ways to do things. Following each stem cell treatment, Luke always completes extra therapy to learn as much as possible while the stem cells are fresh and active.

Unfortunately, Stem cell therapy is not a traditional treatment and therefore not covered by health insurance. Each treatment that we go to Arizona for is $6500 plus the cost of travel and lodging. We have only been able to continue getting Luke these treatments thanks to the fundraising efforts of so many people, in particular, Penny and Ken Parks-Dean with their annual "Luke Strong Ride!"

We continue to be humbled by their efforts to help our family and raise awareness to Luke's brain injury year in and year out with their incredible Bike Ride! From day one I have called them our "Earth Angels" and truly feel that they are. Their commitment and dedication to their ride is unbelievable. Not only are we grateful for them and what they do, but to all who support Luke's Benefit Fund. For those that pray for him, check on him, donate to his fund, and hold him in their hearts as he continues along this lifelong healing journey, we are thankful.

Luke is a miracle. On paper, he should not be alive, not be showing emotions, not be able to control anything his body does, but he continues to improve and defy the odds. But more important than anything, he fills our hearts to the brim with joy and pride that he is our son. We will support and help him every single step of the way as long as we are able.

Thank you for taking the time to read his story, and for considering contributing to the Luke Antolick benefit Fund. We are so grateful.
