The Lucy Ellis Foundation Run

In May 2018, 16 year old Lucy passed away after a sudden and short battle with sepsis, a rare but serious condition often triggered by infection. Her family established the Lucy Ellis Foundation in her memory to campaign for better awareness of sepsis, raise money for specialist equipment and training for hospitals in Wales, and offer athletics scholarships to help underprivileged children and teens pursue their dreams.

On 16th September 2018 the operating theatre team will cover the 223.2km that the ECMO team travelled from London in a bid to save Lucy's life. The team will cover this distance by either running 5km or 10km as an individual.

The event will be taking place in the parklands of Tredegar House, Newport.

In addition to the theatre team we are opening up the run to members of the public who wish to support the team, the family or the foundation by running alongside us.

All money raised will go to The Lucy Ellis Foundation. We require all participants to make a minimum £10 donation through this page. When donating participant fee please leave a message that details your name, distance running and that it is a participation donation
