The "Long Family Funeral Fund"
On behalf of Phicharanna (Peach) Long for the passing of her father Pin Long. He was a loving father, a friend, a grandfather who's lost his battle to colon cancer. Unbeknownst to what was happening, his daughter found him unresponsive and dialed 911. He was resuscitated when paramedics arrived and rushed to the hospital but later pronounced at 8:07pm on August 18th 2017. Today marks the day his life began anew. Without pain and without suffering, I hope he has a pleasant journey to the afterlife.
The Long family grew up in an era where most of their income comprised of government assistance and without the knowledge of a proper retirement plan or a life insurance plan; and are without the necessary funds needed to lay their father to rest in a proper burial and have a proper funeral.
If you are reading this........Please find it in your heart to help and donate, so that my friend, my sister inlaw Phicharanna (Peach) Long can be relieved of the weight that's on her shoulders. Anything helps. The funds are needed ASAP for a proper arrangement. But preferably by the 25th of August. There is only so much time a family can take off for bereavement without pay before it affects their livelyhood.
Phicharanna (Peach) Long will be handling all the expenses and all arrangements for the funeral.
I have known Peach Long and my brother inlaw Harry Mean for almost 20 years. But little did I know, how long I've known Peach's family for; must have been at least 30 years considering that my eldest brother Noy also knew her brother Sarith a.k.a Lace when I was between 5-7 years old. And that while I was growing up, I was possibly playing with Phirum a.k.a Puma "whom I believe to be the 3rd eldest" in the family while my family lived on the same street on Woodward in San Francisco CA. The "Long" family traveled to America in 1984 and is a family of 9; starting with their parents "Sary Chy" mother, "Pin Long" father, "Sarith Long" brother, "Sarout Long" sister, "Phirum Long" brother; which were all born in Cambodia and the first to be born in the US on March 27th of 1985 is Picharanna (Peach for short) Long, followed by "Rathtana (Dena for short) Long" sister, "Rothtyda (Tyda for short) Long" sister, "Peehneka (No Shorts) Long" sister.
Phicharanna (Peach) Long means a lot to not just me but my inlaws as well because she is like a savior to us for my brother inlaw Harry Mean. It isn't easy growing up with so many siblings and living on government assistance, so; like many others in America, it isn't enough to get by with. So like everyone else living on minimum wage, my brother inlaw turned to the streets for solutions. He has changed his life forever when he met Peach on September 26th of 1999 and they've been together for 18 years since.
