The Leaf Family Fundraiser

As many of our friends and family know, Danielle Elizabeth Leaf (17) passed away in a tragic car accident on December 29, 2022.

Two and a half weeks later, on January 16th, her mother, Cindy Denise Sebesta Leaf, suffered a debilitating subarachnoid hemorrhage. Our fiercely strong Cindy has undergone several intensive neurosurgeries and has been in critical condition ever since. Cindy is an organ donor and will potentially be saving many lives in the coming days. Joe Leaf, husband and father, passed away in 2019.

These beautiful souls are survived by Cindy's youngest daughter, Josie and her beloved cat, Blackberry. As the family+community that Cindy has built around her, we are doing everything that we can to wrap our arms around Josie and help to build a new foundation for her. Josie's whole world has been ripped from her in a matter of weeks, as she is the last surviving member of her family at 16 years old.

Cindy is the type of friend where you never have to question her love. You KNOW if you're her "people." And you know whenever she enters the room.

Her love is in her laugh, her unmatched quick-witted humor, and her larger-than-life personality. Her loud energy was infectious and is still with us, inspiring us daily. Her love is in her girls. She has poured every ounce of her heart into raising her daughters and building her family. Her love is in her, Blackberry, her snuggly sidekick furbaby. Her love is in her "tell-it-like-it-is" unfiltered way of life - her way of being unapologetically Cindy. Her love is in her walks around Northern California and her devotion to reclaiming her health. Her love is in her Terra Linda Family. Her Texas Family. Her 49er+Giants Family. Her Facebook Family.

It doesn't matter how long or how well you've known her, Cindy has been EVERYBODY's biggest cheerleader and hype-woman. Over everything else, she valued honest, real, genuine connections and has been a pillar of our community. We are all better for knowing, loving, and being loved by her.

Our hearts are broken.

Cindy has spent her whole life building this network of loved ones, and now, more than ever is when she needs us most. And as we grieve, we ask that we honor the Leaf family by supporting Josie as best we can during this unimaginable time.
