Help us save the lavender fields

In 2017 my wife and I left the big city of San Francisco for the country to start our own business with a few other like-minded entrepreneurs. After years of looking for a place, we came across a beautiful property in the eastern hills of Shasta County Ca. Unfortunately, our partners got cold feet and decided to keep their city lives. The property we took over was once called Tuscan Heights Lavender Gardens. There have been many articles written about this place since it is famous for having over 140 different kinds of lavender, the biggest lavender varieties collection in the west. Sadly, when we bought the land the lavender and the grapes were in pretty bad shape.

Maintaining land requires a lot of expensive equipment and hard-working hands. All the funding is from our own pocket and savings.

-We are attending craft shows to sell our hand made products and sell online.

-We offer free entrance during bloom season and provide tours for only a $1.

-We host workshops and classes with other small businesses to support the local community.

All the money we generate is to restore the lavender to his original glory days and to keep the plants alive.

We decided to convert our shop to a winery and a tasting room. The winery profits will help us maintain the land and will keep the rare lavender varieties alive. We have already received 5 awards for our hobby level wines.

Our vision is to have magical events for the community surrounding lavender and vineyards. To offer a place to relax and to reconnect with nature for free. During the blooming season, we can see the joy of our visitors; families, couples, seniors, and kids harvesting lavender and enjoying our tours. The beauty of the lavender fields and the sweet smell of the flowers bring a smile to everybody.

Our biggest challenge is to convert the shop to be a wheelchair accessible area. At our community, we have a large number of seniors and veterans. Our shop is a bit challenging for them to enter with a wheelchair. To help with that, converting the parking lot to be accessible will be very helpful but the cost is more than $15,000 which we don't have. We are asking for a little help from friends and family to help us complete this project so everyone can enjoy this magical place along with sipping some good wine.

We have less than 2 years to complete the winery build based on the Shasta County Building Department and hope to get any kind of funding asap. Time is running low for us. Your support will mean so much for us and the local community of Whitmore as we would love to make this area of the state California's next wine region. We will be so grateful for your contribution.
