The Laura Barker cancer campaign

Firstly, this was my mum's idea so I can't take any credit here. Nice one Lilian!
Laura Barker, one of my dearest and oldest friends, was recently diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer. She has just turned 40! As I write this, Laura will have just had pretty extensive surgery to remove her entire sigmoid colon, the primary tumour, part of her bladder and surrounding lymph nodes. This is just the first round in the battle. She was only told last week!!
She is a fighter by nature and those who know her will agree that she will give this cancer the kicking it deserves. There is no escaping, however, that this will be a mighty fight and Laura will be off work and will be ill for some time.
Facing a reduced income and not knowing when she will be well enough to return to work, paying the rent, bills and so on will be a real struggle for Laura.
We would love to make money one less thing for her to fret about.
I recognise that 2020 has been unkind to us all and there are so many worthwhile causes to donate to, but if there is one person on this planet that really needs and deserves our help, its Laura. I can honestly say I have never come across anyone that has faced as many challenges as her. Not all that long ago, she was walking around with a broken back after falling off a horse and being packed off from hospital with just codeine!
Please join me in helping Laura. She's a brilliant person and it's heartbreaking to have to see her go through this, especially at her age.
