The Kimmey's Hurricane Relief

Donation protected
We are The Kimmey's. My name is Allison Kimmey, and my husband, Ted Kimmey, a local high school teacher & head football coach, and two young children (Graham, 6 and Cambelle, 5), live in a small beach town on the East Coast of Florida.
After evacuating our family for Hurricane Irma, we were fairly certain that her westward path would spare our townhouse. Unfortunately, on Saturday night, Hurricane Irma's winds completely tore off our entire roof, leaving our belongings water damaged and our house uninhabitable.
The home we had been renting for the last 2 years where we once had dance parties, belly laughed, cheered for football games, and had many personal milestones in now looks like a warzone. Debris is everywhere. Water damage and mold down to the studs, and literally falling apart before our eyes.
With the help of my husband's football team, and many members from our tight knit community, The Kimmey's have moved all our salvaged belongings to a 10x10 storage unit.
As we sit here, hearts full with gratitude for the support we have received, we know that the way ahead will be unstable and adverse. We have no home, very few salvaged items, and all we keep counting is our blessings that we followed our intuition to evacuate our family and holding it together to keep our children away from the heartbreak of this tragedy to help them lead a normal life in the midst of all of this.
Countless family members, close friends, community members, and complete strangers with a heart to serve have reached out to see if they could donate to a GoFundMe page.
While we would love to say we can tackle these next few months on our own as we put our lives back together and keep normalcy for our 5 and 6 year old children, we CANNOT. Our insurance is covering minimal displacement costs to find temporary housing in a hotel, but as many other families are displaced as well, we are currently commuting over an hour from Orlando to the kid's school/jobs. Our personal property insurance had a significant deductible and we are forced to replace all our furniture and other belongings lost to the flooding, but our lives must go on, homeless or not, as repairs are made or we find a new home, which means we will most likely be spending my son's birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas in a hotel.

Any funds raised through this page will aid in living expenses such as: increased food costs bc we do not have a kitchen, extra gas for our commute, laundry costs, loss of family income due to displacement, immediate replacement of clothes, linens and some toys as we wait to have our claim resolved; and recovery/relief for our family as we rebuild and make a new house our home such as: second hand bedroom/living room/dining room furniture as we did not own any bc the home we rented was furnished,  dishes, linens, and other household items.

If you feel in your heart the desire to assist our family in any capacity as we rebuild our life, please know that you are met with our most sincere gratitude. If you are unable to support financially, we ask that you pray for a smooth transition in this trying time.
All Our Love,
The Kimmey's
