The Kellogg Family House Fire
Donation protected
Hi everybody!
My name is Faith Brent and on April 1st, 2023 my parents and my childhood home caught on fire. I’ve never received as bad of a call as I did from my mom when she called me. Even though our house is still standing and looks fine from the outside, it’s gonna be a while before we can live in it again.
On Saturday morning, my mom (Debbie Kellogg) and step-dad (Quentin Kellogg) were cleaning and reorganizing all morning. At 1:00 my mom left to go to the laundromat to take our rug to get cleaned, because it won’t fit in our washer. By the time she got back at 1:35, all of the fire damage inside had been done. A mini portable vacuum that we had received for Christmas, that my mom had charging on the couch caught on fire because it had a lithium battery. Our basement, my moms salon, and my younger step sister’s (Izzabelle) room are all okay because the doors were shut. But, these rooms still suffered extreme smoke damage and the entire inside of our house is a loss. Because of this my mom is unable to work because her salon, Debbie Lou’s Lash & Beauty Bar, is in our house. It will be a while before our house insurance money comes in and now my parents are no longer a dual-income family.
My mom, Debbie, is always giving and doing things for others before herself. She is the most selfless person I know. My whole life she has always been donating and helping others in anyway she could even when she was struggling. Because of this, I wanted to start this to ask our community to return the favor and help her back out when she needs it. My mom and my step-dad never ask me, or anyone else, for anything and I feel as though this is the least I could do for them during these hard times.
