The Kaden fund

Donation protected
On February 14th, Jade and Jacob gave birth to their son Kaden in Columbus. Kaden was born with a complex heart condition. His diagnoses include pulmonary atresia with collateral arteries, pulmonary vein obstruction, dextrocardia, and hypoplastic right heart syndrome. Immediately after birth Kaden was intubated and transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Many tests were completed to confirm his diagnoses. At one day old Kaden went to the cath lab to have a stent placed in his obstructed pulmonary vein. Since then it has been a rollercoaster ride for them. They moved out of the ICU for about two weeks and were on the fast track to going home. Jacob went back home and back to work. During that time kaden coded and that threw a turn of events. Jacob went back to Columbus and had to extend his leave of absence. Kaden has had countless chest X-rays, echos to monitor the stent, and CT scans to look at his lungs. The next step is a tracheostomy due to kadens lungs needing extra support and a feeding tube (g-tube) to help with his feeding. The long term goal is for Kaden to receive a transplant. The trach will allow him to grow and get bigger so it increases the chances of receiving a transplant. Jade and Jacob are still unsure of when they will be able to return home and back to work. Everyday brings new challenages and obstacles.
