The Julie E. Mendez Memorial Scholarship

The Julie E. Memorial Scholarship has been awarding money to high school students from Middletown High School who will be attending Syracuse University in the fall.  Julie was a 2001 Middletown High School graduate. She was part of the National Honor Society and participated in Student Council.  While attending MHS, she was on the tennis team and loved hanging out with her friends.  In her senior she was accepted to Syracuse University into S.I. Newhouse School Of Public Communications.  She was a double major in Public Relations and Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture.  She enjoyed her time at Syracuse University, made life long friends, and valued the education and opportunity that SU provided for her.  After graduating from Syracuse University she continued to work with the Alumni Committee in NYC. She lived a beautiful and eventful life during her short time here on earth.  She is always missed by her loved ones.

This memorial scholarship will continue her legacy in assisting fellow Syracuse students who are alumni of Middletown High School.
