Our beloved Julie Anne Majestic quite literally fell asleep in the arms of her Savior on February 23, 2022, at the age of 51. We would like to keep her light shining by starting a memorial fund at Loma Linda Academy in her honor. You may wonder why it has taken us so long to do so. Our family has been looking into alternate ways to honor Julie in lieu of flowers & at this point, a memorial fund seems to be the most fitting way to pay Julie tribute. Julie taught at the Loma Linda Academy Children's Center for over 22 years & then served as their director for the past almost 9 years. Although she never married or had children of her own, the Children's Center became such, as you could find her there at all hours, even on the weekends and during holiday breaks. She was deeply devoted to her school family & to early childhood education. She loved her calling and was passionate about it. She strove for excellence and envisioned helping develop a much larger center, that could house many more students so that her school could become an even greater resource to the community that she held so dear. There was at least a two-year waiting list in order for children to attend, and she hated to turn families away that couldn't wait that long. She was in discussions with the powers that be regarding this venture before COVID struck, at which time this possibility was halted.
Although we know that our goal amount is not nearly enough for such a building, we do believe that the Lord will multiply these funds in order to make an impactful difference at the school she so cherished: Loma Linda Academy. Just as Jesus fed the 5,000 with only five barley loaves and two small fish, even the smallest donation will be increased by the hands of Christ.
In order to start a school memorial fund in Julie's name, we must be able to provide the Academy with a lump sum of at least $5,000. The reason why I have listed $6,000 is just to make sure that we have an ample amount of headspace in order to cover the GoFundMe transaction fees of 2.9% + 0.30¢ per donation, which will automatically be deducted from each donation. Once we reach this goal, our mother, Elisabeth Pastrama, the temporary beneficiary, will provide these funds to Loma Linda Academy. Should we be unable to meet this aim, whatever has been raised will still go to Loma Linda Academy, but unfortunately, will not be in Julie's name. Either way, Julie wouldn't have minded, as she certainly wasn't vain, & was probably the most down-to-earth person that I ever knew. If she were alive, she would just be thankful that this money would go to her home away from home.
Thank you for even considering honoring our precious, special Julie! To know her was to love her! :-(
