The Judato Opportunity Fund: build Learning Homes

We-Work We-House We-Care

Give a home for free to build other homes

Today more and more women become the breadwinners of their families. How can we support these brave women in order to create opportunities for them and their children? Maybe just by designing houses with them in mind. A safe space to live, learn, work and to connect.  A Makea Learning Home would just purposely be designed for it.  Imagine we can give, donate or invest in such a house. Could we re-invent the house for the future?

Can you imagine to redesign your community and invest in projects that you like, benefit from or that you're  proud of?

One million would be a great start. I know this is a lot of money; but eventually we need to play with the big guys! I had build a house once and then I knew I wanted to do a better version that also lifts others.

Judato is a small foundation for children, that I founded in 2009 while I was  seriously ill. Thyroid cancer left me with a big sleep that almost cost me a decade to recover from.  These 10 years I spend researching and reading about ideas to work with children and women from an entrepreneurial point of view. I learned first hand how difficult it is to recover.  Stubborn to not let my illness get in the way.  My small home turned into a small lab where I could experiment with learning, survival, (health)care and  entrepreneurship.

Testing Concepts about Land

With limited funds I'm taking care of a piece of 'wild land'.  It helps me hands on to test ideas and come up with realistic expectations. What effort does it takes to organize, maintain and work in harmony with what is in front of you. It helps me with better concepts strategies.

As a child I grew up in an unusual situation. My Mom Edna gave birth to me in Surinam and at the age of three I was raised by this wonderful loving twin sisters. Both pre-school teacher.  They instilled in me - in total freedom - my love for kids, learning and science. I had uncensored access to the greatest minds of the world - books and literature.  Both my twin mothers have passed away.  I wanted to do something in their memory.

Judato Foundation  - founded in 2009 to find an alternative way to deal with child abuse and trauma. However life happened and  my illness forced me to rethink the original ideas. I could not do the physical work anymore. Judato will  focus on stimulating positive changes.  Transforming trauma by making small positive changes in recovering.

Since the first learning always occurs in the house; I came up with the idea of 'safe learning houses'. A great way to focus on recovery and human flourishing.  Can we make prosperity contagious?

In the mean time I got the wonderful experience of becoming a grandmother and pass on some of my life experiences. In return my grandchildren taught me recovering by going trough all child development phases.  Learning is about curiosity, experience and practice.

'Recovery = yes, we have to start up, we have to do things different.'

'I love children, high tech, low tech, nature and the arts. How do you combine these?'

From my journey to setup an innovative children's fund and 'startup school'; I realized that there was one thing missing a specialized fund that provided women with access to money from an experimental and innovative point of view. All experimentation is a form of learning. That was the kind of fund I wanted to establish. Many funds gather around the basic needs. After the basic needs are covered it is still very hard to jump start to the next level.

Are we going the give only the fish or can we give a fish and a rod and teach to fish in a better way?

So I decided that building 'learning homes' would be an exciting experiment. A learning home is a house that purposely combines and explores the living function with entrepreneurship. Why because owning a home can set someone up for a prosperous life. In order to do this Judato created the platform idea Makea - to make space for learning houses in the area of real estate and land.

Lets weave a story about money and how its flow cleans by supporting human flourishing. Until now I have creatively used my small income to get started. As I learned in 'start up school' - it is not enough.

Donation is investing with the chance of making an impact, change or experience in a certain amount of time.
Investing is donating money with the focus on your financial return. They are as ying and yang.  Can you help me?

My financial goals:

- Judato Children's Innovation and Entrepreneurial award
- Makea Escrow Safety Fund (one million)
- Legal expenses for the Trust Fund
- Setup of the first 'Learning House'
- Covering local expenses (transportation etc)
- Additional projects with women, children and supporters.

My project goals:
- Continue with prosperity research
- Judato Award
- Setup the first Learning House
- Setup up of the Makea Platform for extra support

Thank you for reading my post up til this point. The next weeks I will add links for you  more ways to connect on social media for  updates. Writing the content is a slow process. But I am very excited to plant this little seed and see it grow into something that can be useful for others too.
