TMI – In Memoriam of Jau’Von Polee Howze
Honoring his memory with a GoFundMe for funeral services and an Educational Fund for his daughter.
Dear TMI Family,
It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that we’ve lost a TMI family member.
While off-duty, Jau’Von Polee Howze, who had been working as a TMI Traffic Controller in West Los Angeles, CA since 2018, was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle. He was walking home from a friends and family event on the morning of Thursday, October 1, 2020.
“It is a sad day when we suddenly lose anyone,” TMI Executive Team says. “Especially someone like Jau’Von – who lit up any space he walked into with his positivity and can-do attitude.”
Jau'Von was born on September 4, 1994 to Johnny Howze, Jr and Tatanisha R. Polee. He grew up in Long Beach, CA with his brother Deion'Ja Polee. He had just celebrated his 26th birthday.
He could be described as a loving, humorous, encouraging young man, and happy son, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was held in high regard by his TMI coworkers.
Jau'Von was a very thoughtful man who kept friends and family near and dear to his heart. He kept a smile on his face and his laugh was contagious. His hobbies included spending quality time with his family, playing video games and basketball, and laughing out loud as his favorite most watched television shows.
Jau’Von is survived by his loving mother, Tatanisha Polee; father, Johnny Howze Jr, brothers, Deion'Ja and Jaylin, sisters Jianni, Kyra, and Amya; and 4-year-old daughter, Vonnie.
This GoFundMe page was established by Traffic Management, Inc. to help raise funds for his funeral arrangements and establish an Educational Fund for his daughter.
TMI has pledged to match funds raised up to $10,000 in this effort.
