The Journey of Danielle Whalen

A Life Well Lived.

Danielle was a diamond that shone bright and brilliant and blazed a trail that few could ever hope to follow.  She will continue to be a guiding light for those of us that knew her and a shining example of what a life well lived should look like.

Danielle Whalen Collins was given the gift of life, and bravely gave it back on Saturday August 18, 2018.  A beautiful, intelligent and amazing 24 year old woman, Danielle made her life about the journey, not the destination.  Although her life followed an unexpected path, Danielle found the courage to live life to the fullest with the time that remained.  Although there were sad times, she made sure that she was surrounded by friends, family, travel, and wanted everyone to continue to laugh, love and have fun.

Some people live a very long life and are never able to pay it forward the way we have seen Danielle do during her battle with cancer.  She was always focused on being there for the people in her life and giving them her strength. It has been very humbling and inspiring to watch her find joy and peace in this time that she had left in her journey. She made every moment count and lived and loved with all of her heart.  She lived her life to the fullest, smiling, laughing and making great memories every day. She has refused to be a victim of cancer and celebrated her amazing life every minute of every day.

Danielle has ended her journey in this life the way it began; surrounded by her family and friends in her childhood home.  The place where her good memories will live on in those of us that love her. Her battle with cancer is over. She did it her way!!!

Danielle’s mother Kendra, father Danny, brother Randy, and husband Carson wish to thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and continued support during this difficult time.

Throughout all of this, Danielle remained the strong, courageous and positive young woman that was grateful for all of the love and support that has been given to her throughout her journey.   Danielle was able to spend time with family and friends working on her bucket list, and asked that everyone who had the great honour of being in her life come together for a celebration of love and friendship, and also to tell endless stories about her awesomeness.  She was confident there would be many!!!

Humble as always!!!

On Saturday, September 15, 2018, everyone is invited to join us at the Espanola Cemetery at 11 am, followed by a reception and Celebration of Life at 1:30 pm at Kendra and Danny Whalen’s home at 5A Spencer Lane, Nairn Centre (behind Jeremy’s Truck Stop).

Your attendance would mean a great deal to Danielle, Carson and the entire Whalen family.

Thank you,

The Whalen family
