The Jones Family IVF Journey

Daniel and Kara have been trying to conceive for 3 years now. After about a year of trying, they decided to get to the bottom of their struggles. Kara ended up going to the doctor and was scheduled for an exploratory surgery to determine if she had endometriosis like the doctor suspected. After confirmation of the diagnosis and the doctor removing as much of the endometriosis that she could, Kara got some discouraging news that it was much worse than the doctor suspected (stage 4 endometriosis) and she would need to see a specialist for more help. The doctor let Kara know that her uterus had fused to her intestines which is part of all the pain she was experiencing. Kara and Daniel began researching and found several ways that they can help treat this at home. Kara began making some major lifestyle changes to reduce inflammation and hopefully help to reduce the size of the growths including diet changes and changes in many products they were using. After seeing a specialist it was recommended for them to try IUI. The doctor stated that getting Kara pregnant as soon as possible was the best way to stop the progression of the disease and heal Kara’s body. They tried one cycle of IUI and it was not successful. After more time had passed, the doctor decided to do another more invasive surgery to try to remove more of the endometriosis and see what was going on. At this time the doctors showed that some of the hard work Kara had put in with her diet and lifestyle changes had helped reduce the size of one of the growths! Unfortunately there were still a lot of other areas that were concerning and while the doctor was able to un-fuse her tubes from her uterus they still said that IVF was the next step they need to take. Again, the doctor recommended starting ASAP. Due to Kara’s age and the severity of the endometriosis, she will need to do this soon. Daniel and Kara have spent a lot of time in prayer about this and have decided that January is when they should start this process. The total cost of IVF for them is $22,000 and unfortunately their insurance does not cover any of it. They have been blessed to have extra work, which will help with the costs. However, due to all of the previous surgeries and medical bills, it would take a couple of years to reach their financial goal. If you feel led to give towards their IVF journey, you can give here or directly to them. We would love to be able bless them with the funds they need to start the process! ❤️
