The Jessica Connors Memorial Scholarship

On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, we suddenly lost our youngest sister Jessica. Jessica grew up in East Setauket NY where she graduated from Ward Melville High School in 2002. She went on to receive her bachelor's degree in education from Buffalo State College in 2007. She began her career working in the Three Village Central School District in February 2008 as a Teaching Assistant. Her compassion and dedication to working with students with special needs and learning differences brought her joy and fulfillment. She saw every student she worked with as unique and treated each child as if they were her own. She cared for a few special children over the years that have become family. Her heart was devoted to making their lives better and in return they filled her life with the gifts of unconditional love and friendship. Her passion came from a place of empathy and awareness.

In her memory, we would like to create a scholarship for a graduating senior from Ward Melville High School that exemplifies the characteristics of Jessica that we will cherish most. Recipients of this scholarship should have a connection to, or have made contributions to students with learning differences or special needs.
