Thank you so much for taking the time to look at The Homeless Period Brighton fundraising page.
Periods are not a great time of the month for anyone, but for many homeless and vulnerable women with very limited access to the expensive 'luxury' of sanitary items, it is a truly awful and humiliating time, and because of the taboo that surrounds the topic, it's something that doesn't often cross our mind.
Some are forced to use ripped up cloths, old socks or toilet roll from public toilets, or make a few tampons last the entire length of their period. This can lead to infections, putting people's physical health at serious risk, as well as damaging their emotional wellbeing.
So, it's very exciting that this campaign has now been set up in Brighton, to supply vulnerable women across our city with with the items they struggle to get access to!
The money and donations go towards creating our special period care packs, which each containing underwear, wipes, and a selection of sanitary products. These packs will be going out to other homeless charities and women's groups in Brighton.

If you're not sure you would like to donate here but would like to be involved in the campaign, you may donate items for our period care packs at Dead Wax Social on Bond Street, Brighton or The Marlborough Pub on Princes Street, Brighton. The items we can accept are sanitary pads, tampons, hygiene wipes, sanitary disposal bags and new knickers. We are looking to set up further donation stations across Brighton & Hove and we will provide the addresses of these donation stations once they are confirmed.
