The Home-going of Elder James Dukes

I am a minister at Mt Pisgah FWB Church where Elder James Dukes served faithfully. He was a very talented and well-known musician who played in churches and venues all over the surrounding areas. He was a simple, humble man with limited means. He loved his family and he loved the Lord. He would help wherever he was needed. He would go even if he had to go by himself. Dukes loved people. He loved his craft. He loved music. He loved traveling and he loved the Lord! He used his gift to be a blessing to others. There is a saying that your gift will make room for you. He would play whether he was paid or not. Everyone who came into contact with him, loved him. Dukes will be fondly remembered and missed by everyone who knew him. To know him was to love him! He was a friend to many and a devout Man of God!

James left this world on December 16, 2020 without a  life insurance policy. He believed, as a veteran, his funeral costs would be covered by the VA. However, the Veterans Administration will only pay for the tombstone and the plot where he is buried. All other expenses are left to his family. Whether you knew him by his exuberant praise, his belly rub, his frequent visits, fellowship at dinner, his stories of old, or how well he played, I am asking you to contribute whatever God places on your heart to help his family put him to rest. He went above and beyond for many during his life.  Now is the time to give back. Christmas is a season of giving and sharing unto others. The funeral arrangements are being made by Richards funeral home on 436 Main Street in New Madrid, MO 63869.  All proceeds are going there.
