My name is Bianca Hiebert, I am the oldest daughter of Norbert and Jacqueline Hiebert, and this is the story of our family.
Our struggles started in 2016 but in reality they've been around for a lot longer. Last year my Dad suffered from a massive heart attack while on the job as a truck driver in the US and as a result left him with only 30% of normal heart use. This caused major financial distress in our family due to the insurance not covering any of the costs. This left my parents with a very high bill that put them under a lot of stress.
During this time, my Mom had to take over the financial responsibilties for the family. She had to work day and night and learn to drive Truck on her own because my Dad was unable to. After a while he went back to work because my mom was struggling to support everything on her own.
My Mom had struggled with depression for most of her life and had always tried to take care of it on her own. She went through troubling life events that lead to her increasing depression. On Thursday, July 13th, 2017, she lost the battle to depression.
My sister, my dad and I are all currently off work to grieve our loss and are living at my Grandparents. My dad will be searching for work in the city in order to stay close to us and because he is unable to handle truck driving on his own with his heart condition. The funds will be used to pay for the funeral costs, the medical bills for the heart attack and the cost of living while unemployed.
