The heater has gone kaput

Brrrr.  The north winds have made it to Florida, and our central heat and air has decided not to warm us up.  We are currently using space heaters, but that can be dangerous. Our family would really appreciate any help you could offer, even if it’s only $5.  Obviously, we need this sooner than later.  I’ve been offered a really good deal on a unit but we need more money than we’ve got.  Can you, please, help?
