The situation for abandoned animals in the United Arab Emirates is truly heartbreaking. Sadly, there are no official organizations to support those of us who dedicate our lives to helping them.

The dry climate and constant dust make viruses like calicivirus and herpesvirus very common, and although rabies doesn’t exist here, parvovirus is widespread and often deadly. On top of that, there are no sterilization programs for street animals, which means the cycle of suffering never ends.

Many people abandon their pets — even purebred cats — without a second thought. Most of these animals, especially long-haired breeds, are not adapted to survive on the streets. They fall sick quickly and, without intervention, they die.

We do everything we can, often at our own expense, and sometimes even going into debt. This puts pressure on our families, our health, and even our relationships with others when we dare to ask for help. Yet we continue, because every life saved matters.

When an animal recovers, we work tirelessly to find them a loving home, often abroad. And although we’ve had many beautiful success stories, we have also faced disappointment and even betrayal.

Please understand: every animal abandoned here suffers immense emotional and physical trauma. They don’t deserve this. They deserve safety, kindness, and a chance at life.

We really want to help a small colony of these kittens. They are in urgent need of proper care so they can grow up healthy and eventually find loving forever homes.

Each kitten needs a full medical treatment, which includes:

- Neutering/spaying

- Tests for viruses and parvo

- Deworming and flea medication

- Complete vaccinations
