The Harper-Town Golden Girls

Our Goal:
Our goal is to raise $30,000 to totally renovate Ms. Gonza’s home and make it handicap accessible, provide nursing care, provide security and a cook to provide healthy meals on a daily basis for these women to live out the duration of their lives.

It is in gratitude that you see it in your heart to reunite these friends and provide them with the comfort that we would want for our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister or aunt.

Donations:
We are accepting  gifts in kind, including volunteer renovation labor, renovation materials, monetary gifts, financial guidance and ongoing medical services.  

History:
These women have known each other and been friends  for over 86 years. Double or triple the time most of us have lived. They met as young kids in Harper-town, near Hapeville, GA.

Ms. Gonza is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in a motor pool from 1951-1954. (Wow) This is where she learned to handle large vehicles that are still used today. She’s 86, but don’t tell her I told you. 

Her friend of 86 years, Ms. Nellie Mae made her life as a domestic (ref. "The Help"), between Georgia and Connecticut, cleaning homes and raising others children as her own. She just turned 91 years old.
