The Great Removal

We are Gilgandra High School’s Class of ’17 and we have fully embraced the worthy tradition of Year 12 fundraising this year.
We are from Gilgandra NSW Australia. 
This cohort is determined to leave their formal school years as young people focused on making a difference.
They have selected a variety of worthy, and relevant to them, charities and have already amassed a pleasing sum to donate on their final school day in September.
Their chosen charities include:
• Australian Hearing
• Diabetes Australia
• Gilgandra Cancer Fundraisers
These charities have been chosen as two members of class (Jarren and Jarrod)  are affected by diabetes and have a  cochlear implant, and cancer has affected many people in both our town and school community. The funds will be used to support people across Australia and within the Gilgandra community suffering and/or affected from diabetes, hearing problems and cancer. 
Now is the time for their biggest fundraising event, THE GREAT REMOVAL.
Some brave lads have been cultivating fine scalp growth over the past few months, with the hopes that individuals and businesses would contribute towards their fundraising goals.
These lads are Thomas Brisbane, Blake Frost and Kenneth Johnson.

Local hairstylist Mrs Jodie Walker, Account Manager for De Lorenzo Australia, has kindly offered her skills for the shave day, (THE GREAT REMOVAL), which will be held in our school hall in late July.
Please donate and help us raise money for worthy causes. ❤️

The money raised will be  placed in our secure bank account directly, then cheques will be made, which will be given to the chosen charities on our Yr 12 final assembly September 22nd. 

This event is a long standing practice in our school. Every year, at our school, the Year 12s raise funds for community and charity organisations that are appropriate to the cohort. This activity is fully supported by our School Executive, P and C members and families.
