Heating the Homeless

Hi everyone, my name is Tienna Osmond and I am working with The Garden of Eat’n in Pefferlaw, Ontario as well as my friends/family to spread joy around Toronto this Christmas.

Instead of the tradition of giving lots of gifts to each other, my family and I have decided to spread the happiness to people who have been dealt a tough hand - by giving out winter care packages to the homeless.

I am sure that for everyone 2020 was rough to say the least. Now, take how rough this year was and imagine if you had no home throughout the whole thing. Homeless people already struggled to survive the first quarantine in March and it is now nearing the end of December, with some of the coldest months of the year coming our way, and although we can’t take everyone out of the cold; we CAN bring the warmth to them.

All proceeds collected through this platform will go towards warm clothing and non-perishable food items for the care packages. The Garden of Eat’n will be posting all the packages we make, as well as them being handed out around the city so that everyone who donated may physically see how much of a difference they have made and end 2020 off on a bit of a brighter note.

The Garden of Eat’n has also offered to acceptany drop offs of used (good condition) or new winter gear that could go towards the care packages. Their address is: 28664 ON-48, Pefferlaw, Ontario

Thank you for your time, Happy Holidays and cheers to 2021 being a better year all around
