It is with heavy hearts that we share: Cole Grad died tragically on Thursday, August 10th in Pasco, WA as a result of an electrical accident while swimming with his friends in the Columbia River. He was just 15 years old. Firefighters, paramedics, and the Kadlec Hospital staff went above and beyond to try to bring Cole back to us but were unsuccessful.
Family and friends are seeking your prayers, as well as your donations to help Cole’s family with medical expenses and funeral costs.
Those who knew Cole know how truly special he was in so many ways. He loved spending time with his friends and family in the outdoors. An avid outdoors man, Cole spent countless hours hunting, fishing, camping, snow skiing, and wakeboarding around the Northwest with his friends and family. He enjoyed riding his dirt bike locally and at the family’s cabin in the Blue Mountains. He had an adventurous spirit and was fearless in all of his pursuits. There wasn’t a hill, trail, or jump that he wouldn’t attempt. He was also a beloved student at Chiawana High School and a dedicated member of the football and baseball teams.
Cole will always be remembered by his infectious smile. He had a way of bringing light and joy to everything he did. Many will remember him for his polite and courteous nature. He had a huge heart and always gave the best hugs. Even though he had to start leaning down as he was much taller than most of us.
It is impossible to make sense of such a devastating and unexpected loss. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. We all look to find peace knowing that the day of the tragedy Cole was able to spend most of the day doing what he loved – spending time with his mother and younger brothers. At the time of the accident he was laughing, smiling, and having fun with his friends.
Cole leaves behind a close and loving family including his 12-year-old twin brothers and his mom and dad.
