The GLIMMER. Bar : Where healing and beauty meet ♡

Hi All! I am Miya Alise Reddrick, brand owner of GLIMMER. by Alise, Limited Liability Co. Since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to help anyone I see having a hard time. Whether it was a homeless person or someone sitting alone at the lunch table, my priority has always been to serve kindness to those around me. Starting my journey in the beauty industry – first selling hair, a business my father started for me, allowing me to learn the ins and outs of entrepreneurship – I fell in love with the support and encouragement of those in the health and beauty industry. Fast forward to 2019 – GLIMMER. by Alise is born with a vision of merging beauty with faith and mental health advocacy.
As a social work student with a minor in supply chain management attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University– I have dedicated myself to a life of learning, serving, helping, and finding ways to build a community that reflects the Love of God.
With this being said – I have been trusted with a task that I am indeed overwhelmed with – but extremely excited about - building the house of the Lord innovatively. If you are a believer, I am sure you are aware of the madness in today's society and God's dire wish that we all come to him. In order for that to happen, God must do a NEW THING.
Walking out on faith and instruction – I would like to present my upcoming project, The GLIMMER. Bar - a beauty destination and community outreach facility with a mission to foster community through sisterhood, beauty, and spiritual development. The GLIMMER. Bar is a salon suite method and community space in Clayton, North Carolina. Through this construction project, the Lord's work will be done in a way that will bring those who may never step foot in a church close to him. Through workshops around spiritual development, mindset shifting, financial literacy, and physical and mental activities that support a well-balanced inner being – The GLIMMER. Bar is determined to ensure that the next generation of young women are equipped with the tools and skills they need to walk Boldy in God's call over their life—our offerings at The GLIMMER. Bar have been designed to build economic strength in Clayton, specifically for its young women.
At The GLIMMER. Bar, our offerings are built with our tenants and community in mind, bringing a competitive edge to the way beauty and mental health advocacy is administered. Beginning with our Glow Room, a multipurpose space that will be used for in-house programming, my greatest desire for the Glow Room is to see my tenants and other women in the city of Clayton use it as a space to hold events for their businesses and social causes that are important to them – also alighting with GLIMMER.'s brand pillars.
Programming for The GLIMMER. Bar has already begun, and we are super excited to announce our grand opening event, which is projected for August 2024 – GLIMMER.'s Playhouse – a back-to-school event for Johnston County schools where bookbags filled with school supplies will be handed out. There will also be games, giveaways, face painting, live music, and more! I am specifically excited about partnering with local barbers and having them come in and give back to school cuts – the girls can look forward to fresh, fun, and stylish nails as they prepare to start their school year off in confidence!
Additionally, out of the donations made, $100,000 will be gifted to Family Abuse Services- my current social work internship during my senior year of college. Located in Burlington, North Carolina, Family Abuse Services is a wraparound domestic violence shelter, meaning those who are fleeing from domestic violence can come to our facility, speak with a judge the day of, and walk out with the legal protection of an emergency restraining order from their unsafe person. There is also an onsite special victims unit and advocates ready to help those in need. Family Abuse Services does fantastic work – however, they need some help securing additional housing for survivors of domestic violence in Alamance County – as the demand is super high and continues to grow.
In Closing, I want to thank EVERYONE who has supported GLIMMER. by Alise since the beginning. I want to thank God for trusting me with such a task and searching my heart -filling it with His will for my life. I am thankful for my family, who have watched me carry this thing out. Let's turn the city of Clayton, North Carolina, UP, Y'all! Your donations to The GLIMMER. Bar are greatly appreciated.
Rest assured, every dollar donated will be used to secure land for The GLIMMER. Bar, build, and maintain the facility, fund our community outreach programs and our in-house programming, and support our mission of empowering young women in Clayton, North Carolina! Together, we can make a difference.
With love,
Miya Alise | GLIMMER. by Alise brand owner ♡
