</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div>–
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

</div>
<div>My husband <strong>Hannibal Giraldo</strong>, a great father and artist, has lived a decade and half of his life battling <strong>against a tumor slowly growing in his brain</strong>. In May of 2026 his health significantly worsened and he was diagnosed with a <strong>malignant cancer, Glioblastoma level 4</strong>, which left him with a limited amount of time. Today, we are rapidly approaching the end of his battle with the illness, but it isn’t the end for his family and friends, who <strong>wish to give him a dignified goodbye</strong> to maintain his memory with us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To this cause, we turn to the community and all those who could provide any form of support possible, since we <strong>require financial help to achieve a proper goodbye</strong> and <strong>cover the funeral and medical expenses left</strong>. With much humility and pain, we ask for any possible help, regardless of quantity, and any help sharing the story with as many people as possible.
</div>
<div>–
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To retell a bit of his story, it all started in Latin America where in Venezuela we created a home to support our family. With this same end, Hannibal came to the USA for better opportunities and a greater future for our children.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Amongst all this, on a night of 2009 after high fever, Hannibal had his first convulsion. With this first fight started the war against his illness, where frequent seizures started causing him painful injuries.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite it all, he continued fighting and we traveled to Bogotá Colombia in search of answers. After a biopsy, he was diagnosed with an astrocytoma level 2, a brain tumor, and was promptly sent to surgery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thanks to the surgery we managed to live many more years and adventures with him. Even so, the illness changed his life forever since he was unable to work and lived the rest of his life with medicines, humor changes, and decreased energy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During these times, he found himself in his great passion for art of all kinds, pursuing art, music, writing and many forms of self expression. He dreamt of monumental projects and ideas that his illness never allowed him to pursue.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In addition, he was able to see his family grow and see the effects of his work for getting them a better life. He became a grandfather and was able to share magical moments with his grandchildren and children.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Through many beautiful moments, he still fought and underwent a second surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, which leads us to the present moment where the doctor informed us the treatment did not give the expected results and that we had a limited time with him.
</div>
<div>Today, Hannibal can no longer speak or walk, tied to a bed receiving medicines, including morphine for the pain. It is incredibly painful for me and my family to see him in so much pain.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As his wife, I am the main person who has taken care of him, with our children coming to help when they can amongst their own responsibilities and families. Hannibal’s remaining family is all found in Colombia, and they are unable to come visit to say goodbye, so it is incredibly important for us that when the time arrives, Hannibal is able to rest close to his children and grandchildren.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I have been the one who has financially maintained the household, but after cutting work to be with him, we now do not have the financial means to cover the costs of his funeral.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any support is greatly appreciated to honor the life of my husband. To this same end, I invite you to visit his instagram, @hannibaltridex, where he shared for many years his art, family, and experiences with his illness. Our children plan on maintaining his account alive to continue his great purpose: share his paintings, art, and way of life to the world.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for reading his story and for accompanying us at this moment. We want him to be remembered by his kindness, his dreams, and above all, for the love he had for his family.
