The Gift of Art that Keeps on Giving!

Tax deductible
The Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, CA has an opportunity to build its Permanent Collection in a most significant and impactful manner. In 2021, celebrated painter, poet, publisher, founder of City Lights Booksellers in San Francisco, and activist Lawrence Ferlinghetti passed away. The Triton Museum is currently hosting the first major exhibition of his paintings since his passing. The Museum was fortunate to acquire two of his paintings for its collection, but here is the exciting part: the Triton Museum of Art has the opportunity of acquiring four more major works by Ferlinghetti, which would make the Triton Museum the largest museum holder of Ferlinghetti’s works. And what does this mean for the Triton? In addition to becoming stewards of this important body of work, the Triton will also become a major lending institution of Ferlinghetti’s paintings, ensuring that his artistic contributions continue to be recognized and shared. It is an awesome responsibility and honor … for which we need your help.

Beginning September 25, the Triton Museum of Art is asking for your help. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to help us acquire this important collection of Lawrence Ferlinghetti paintings. This is far, far below their market value, but the return on investment for the Triton Museum will be manyfold, as we also intend to employ these paintings in a future traveling exhibition of Ferlinghetti’s works, which will generate additional funds for the Triton Museum of Art.

As our way of thanking you, we have a number of gifts:

  • For a $100 donation in this campaign, you will receive an annual Family Membership to the Triton Museum of Art.
  • For $200 you will receive a coffee table book, “David Einstein: A 50 Year Retrospective” published by the Triton Museum of Art.
  • For a gift of $500 or more, we will create a recognition tile in your name, which will be installed in the Museum entry patio.

In addition, all donors to this campaign will be acknowledged on the Triton website. But our real thank you will be the gratitude of future museum visitors, at the Triton and other museums showing these works. Your gift of art will give many returns and help support the Triton Museum for years to come.
