My name is Knox Pitzer, from Austin,Texas. I have created this GoFundMe site for my cousin Heather, her husband John, and their son Jake. They've lost nearly everything they own since Hurricane Harvey hit Houston the weekend of August 26, 2017.
Between the 52 inches of rain they received and the emergency release of water from area dams, their house has been under water, and remains so as of this posting.
Not only will they have to pay to rent a place for the next year while they wait for their current house to be rebuilt, but they will have to continue to pay their current mortgage, utility bills (for the house AND the rental) and replace furniture, clothes, dishes, kitchenware, appliances, and even their cars. With a list like that, you can see why I ask for the funding level I have listed.
My hope is that they will, at the very least, be able to pay for their rental and utilities while they rebuild. As you can imagine, the housing rates in Houston are climbing due to both demand and greed. Having two dogs and a young son, they need a place that can accommodate them all and return to some level of a normal existance while they rebuild their home and lives.
Please consider giving anything you can. Even smaller donations add up, so please don't think you can't donate because you don't feel you have enough to offer. Every dollar is appreciated and needed! THANK YOU!!!
