Murdered Fire Fighter Gary Diamonds Memorial Fund

Retired fire Chief Gary Diamond died a true HERO on December 26th, 2020 around 3:00 AM. Gary Diamond was murdered at his home in Molino Florida, after 30 year old Jared Clakley the father of Diamonds two granddaughters came to the families residence with a loaded gun continuing an earlier argument he and Diamonds youngest daughter had. Jareds lengthy criminal behavior is no secret to anyone. Gary spent his entire life serving family, his community as well as people he didn’t even know.. Gary made friends everywhere he went and was the kindest hearted man who was extremely dedicated to his family. On the morning Gary was murdered Cindy tried relentlessly to stop Gary from bleeding out while she was covered in blood watching the live of her life, her soul mate & best friend die. Just Horrific!! Gary and his bride Cindy Diamond as he always called her just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. The love between them was like the day they first meet but even better. We can only be as lucky to experience this type of love in our own lifetime. Cindy was the glue that kept the family together. While Gary was the protector and financial glue. The two of them as I called them were the “Diamond Duo”. You could always hear Gary say whenever Cindy & he were apart “excuse me y’all I have to go call my bride every time!!! Everything Gary did was for the betterment of his family. Im seeing the aftermath of grief, pain and anger our family is feeling having watched this all unfold it has also become Cindys reality that financially she is going to need help. Our family as well as the entire community are mourning the tragic loss of one incredibly loving husband, father, son, cousin, pawpaw and friend. This killers act of violence changed our family in many ways. Jared took a piece from each person who every loved and respected Gary and left a permanent void in Cindys life and heart! There are not enough words to express how paralyzing we are with grief, anger and outrage over this cowardly act of violence. Gary never asked or wanted from anyone in fact he was the one always doing the giving. You could always find this humbled man at the river almost weekly and as kids we use to go every weekend. We camped and listened to the stories Gary always told and my cousin could whip up so of the funniest jokes...he loved grilling and he loved his Steelers and a cold beer. Gary Diamond will ALWAYS be remembered as a “HERO”. Gary “PROUDLY" served over 20 years at the fire department and retired as a fire Captain to one Dept and Chief for another. Gary was well liked and loved by all who knew him.  He was a humbled servant, leader and a man of morals and values.  Gary put people first before self just as he did that fateful morning when he stepped in front of the gun to protect his family from the intentional violence Jared displayed that day. My cousin Gary Diamond took 5 bullets to his neck and abdomen that morning for his children, grandchildren and beloved wife Cindy! “There just is NO greater sacrifice absolutely NONE then to lay down ones life to save another” a true testament of the kind of man Gary was! As Gary Diamonds cousin and dear friend I’m asking the publics support and help as we put in place some sort of financial support as Cindy doesn’t work do to a serious medical condition. Gary was her only financial support and when he died his income stopped! Gary picked up shifts with fedex ground driving 18 wheelers across country to make extra money to pay bills.  Gary stayed for weeks on end with my brother Richard Diamond in Mississippi while making his cross country runs.  Gary made his last run on Tuesday of last week! I set up this go fund me page in hopes to secure less financial strain on Cindy and their grandson JT that Cindy & Gary were raising. If you can find a way to send just a little support I guarantee those funds will be used to secure food, incurred medical expenses and living expenses for months to come while Cindy adjusts to life without Gary. If you can’t donate please share the page with others. The family would like to express gratitude for all the outpour of texts, calls and love over the last 72 hrs. None of these have gone unnoticed and are definitely appreciated.
