The Front Steps Project- Dallas

Over the past 6 weeks, I have photographed over 200 Dallas families who have participated in my Front Steps Project- Dallas fundraiser. Together we have raised OVER $20,000 and counting! The first campaign reached 10K and was given directly to the North Texas Food Bank. That's 40,000 meals to children and families in need. You can see the progress of the closed fundraiser here. In addition to what is shown here, over $5000 has been given by charitable foundations in honor of the project after foundation families were photographed. Even though we hit our original goal, we are moving forward with the fundraising through May. 50% of everything in the new campaign will be donated to help feed hungry North Texas families.
More about the project:
Portraits are shot from a responsible distance of at least 10 feet and will last about 5 minutes. I focus on a single neighborhood per day and limit my sessions from 5-6:30pm. You will receive 2-3 digital files via email and in exchange, I ask you make a good faith donation to the fundraiser. The suggested donation amount is $75-$150 but any amount will help.

About North Texas Food Bank: Vision for a hunger-free, healthy North Texas with a mission to close the hunger gap in North Texas by providing access to nutritious food. The North Texas Food Bank provides over 60,000 boxes of food across 13 counties weekly and expects the need for food assistance to grow in the coming weeks and months.
About Julia:
I am an NYC-based photographer who just moved with our family to Dallas in early March. This is a photograph of my family in front of our home in Brooklyn. Never would I have thought that this is how we would become involved in the local community but here we are. As a mother, I understand the importance of a village and hope this fundraising effort will provide some relief to struggling families who have been physically cut off from their village as an effect of COVID-19.
