<div>This is Lubega Frankio as many of you know my wife Leticia is from Venezuela. All of her family still lives there. Her mom, Felicia, is 80 years old and is struggling with some severe respiratory problems. She had Covid several years ago and seemed to remain with negative effects from the virus. Recently, she came down with a severe case of the flu. She was taken in for medical care and it was discovered that one of her lungs is not functioning, both lungs were filled with fluid and the "good" lung is only partially functioning. They were able to drain both lungs. She will now have to be on O2 for the rest of her life.

<div>The public health system in Venezuela provides minimal care at best and does not even have supplies in many cases. Therefore, one is forced to go to a clinic which provides quality care yet payments are to be made in dollars. This is far beyond the means of Leti's family in Venezuela.

<div>I'm not one to use platforms like this but in this case, I realize that if the funds are not there, Leti's mom, Felicia will not receive treatment which would result in a terrible ending.
</div>
