<div>For over four decades, the women who helped build hip-hop from the ground up have watched their contributions get overshadowed or ignored. Blondy has waited long enough for someone else to tell the truth.
</div>
<div>Now, she’s ready to tell it herself.
</div>
<div>This book is her chance to reclaim her voice and her legacy
</div>
<div>raw, unfiltered, unaltered, and unapologetically real.
</div>
<div>No industry gatekeepers.
</div>
<div>No revisionist history.
</div>
<div>No watered down version made to fit someone else’s narrative.
</div>
<div>Just the truth about the first queens of hip-hop from the woman who lived it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In 1979, the same year Rapper’s Delight reshaped the music world and was credited as the first commercial rap record, Sugar Hill Records signed Sequence. This made them the second group signed to the label and the first female hip-hop group in recorded rap history. Their debut single “Funk You Up” blasted onto the charts and went gold in just three weeks, securing its place as one of the earliest commercial rap hits of all time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the center of this groundbreaking moment stood Blondy, alongside her sisters Cheryl the Pearl and Angie B (later known as Angie Stone). Blondy wasn’t just a member of the first female rap group, she was hip-hop’s first female sex symbol, a fearless, fashion-forward innovator whose blonde image, bold style, and unapologetic femininity paved the way for every confident, empowered female rapper we see today.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But while hip-hop grew into a global force, one thing remained painfully true:
</div>
<div>Blondy’s story and Sequence’s story was repeatedly silenced, minimized, or erased.
</div>
<div>And she’s done being quiet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Why She’s Raising Funds
</div>
<div>Blondy is choosing to self-publish because she refuses to let anyone edit, rewrite, dilute, or censor her story. She wants full ownership, full control, and full authenticity.
</div>
<div>But self-publishing at a professional level that honors the magnitude of her legacy comes with real costs:
</div>
<div>editing, design, printing, distribution, marketing, legal clearance, photo permissions, and more.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your support helps her:
</div>
<div>• tell her story the way it deserves to be told
</div>
<div>• preserve the legacy of The Sequence for future generations
</div>
<div>• finally give voice to the women who helped build a culture that changed the world
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s time to set the record straight.
</div>
<div>It’s time to honor the pioneers.
</div>
<div>It’s time for Blondy to speak loudly, boldly, and in her own words.
