<div>And I have always been fascinated by nature and I have been a eco volunteer and activist for many years. During lock-down, I decided it was time to really make a positive difference. One thing I have never been before is a moss farmer. Here's why that is the best thing I ever decided to do:

<div>I finally found and bought it in 2022, this fifty-acre parcel of land in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which holds a rich history as a lead mine, Victorian council tip, and grazing land. Today, it stands as a beacon of natural recovery and biodiversity, hosting rare species. It has remnants of temperate Celtic rainforest, and most importantly, Peatland.

<div><strong>Our mission is to restore and enhance this unique ecosystem, serving as a model for environmental rejuvenation.</strong>

<div>Did you know? <strong>Only 3% of the planet is Peatland, but it stores more than 30% of the Earth's soil carbon. Protecting it, and restoring damaged peatlands is the Project's core mission.</strong>

<div>In our first year, we conducted extensive surveys to understand the current state of the land. Now we are ready for the next phase of our journey - <strong>to tackle diffuse pollution from mine spoils, and Peatland restoration. </strong>
