The Fiander Fund

On June 14th, 2017 the world got a little darker as a bright, kind, loving, funny and beautiful light was extinguished. Our dear friend Roy Fiander was taken from us far too soon. A devoted father, husband, son, brother, friend and colleague, Roy will be missed more than anyone can ever really realize or comprehend.

Originally hailing from Newfoundland, Roy came to Ontario and met his wife Claire, the person whom many call his soulmate and other half. They did everything together. You could often find them going on long rides on the Harley. No matter how hard life got, Roy could always be found with a smile on his face and sunshine in his heart. He was what most people would call an eternal optimist. There are not many people who bring this kind of light to your life, but Roy was one in a million, and that kind of a soul can never be replaced.

He brought so much happiness to those around him and could always make you giggle with his wheezy laugh, silly jokes and unabashedly thick Newfoundland accent. Many of his work colleagues were not only his longtime friends - he considered them his confidants and brothers. When he retired from his job (not long ago) due to medical issues, he was met with many handshakes, hugs, and a lot of love as everyone knew how much he would be missed. He enjoyed the simple things in life - shootin' the breeze over a cold beer in the garage made him content. He was extremely proud of his heritage, absolutely adored motorcycles (especially Harleys) and loved no one more than his family, his wife Claire and their 3 boys, Dylan, Kevin and Kyle. He was a devoted father who would do anything for his boys. He fought against the odds, he always made sure his kids were first.

With this campaign, we are raising funds to help out with his family's expenses. Roy was struggling with some medical issues before his passing, and the family can use all the financial help they can get. By donating to this cause, you are donating to help Roy's spirit live on, as he would have given anything he could to help another in need. That's just who he was.

No amount is too small, 100% of the funds raised will go to the Fiander family.

We appreciate all your love and support at this extremely difficult time.
