The Fairy Island Festival

We just made the first electronic music festival in the Faroe Islands called "The Fairy Island Festival". 

In the most beautiful location a valley called "Norðradalur" with a view of an island in the ocean we set up two stages, workshop tent, healing area, shops / art gallery, camping, restaurant and bar. The music was everything from ambient to psytrance, played by musicians from all over europe.

 

An event like this has never before been made in the Faroes, so in this area we are pioneers, just simple people with a lot of passion!

 

Even with this super location and a good community of electronic music lovers there were some factors which made it difficult for us to be able to pay the whole price of the festival.

 

The first one was of course corona.. even if there is almost no corona in the Faore Islands and life continues almost as it normally does, it still affected all the potential guests from abroad, since travel from a lot of countries is very restricted.

 

The second one was that one month before the festival should be on, the new mayor of the location we had took back the allowance.. So we had to change location to a place which was even more beautiful, but more difficult to come to, so we also lost some Faroese guests because of this.

 

So in the end we had a beautiful festival with a few very nice people full of good energy and happiness to be able to get together and dance again after such a long time of isolation. But now we are left with a big minus on the festival account.

 

The people who were there loved it so much and we have so many requests of doing this festival again, but in order to do so, we need some funding, which is why we are asking you, the people, for support!

 

If we can raise the amount which we lost on this one which is 50.000 euro, we can gather the energy to start working on the next edition. And now with pictures, videos and first hand experiences from this festival we feel sure that the second one will be with more participants, and therefor with an economical plus as well.

 

Together we can create a new culture in these remote islands, so people from all over the world can come to experience good music, holistic knowledge and beautiful nature.
