The English Family Wants to Adopt!

I didn't quite believe people when they said that adoption was a "journey"... Do you ever get tired of your own story? Or worry how your circuitous route will be perceived by others? Are they annoyed that I am still here, still talking about this?

It has indeed been a long road, but here we are 5 years later, finally looking at the end!

The "end" of a story isn't often the way we anticipate it. For 3 years we pursued domestic infant adoption, but due to a variety of circumstances, including COVID-19, matching and placement kept getting delayed. With no definite timeline and the age gap continuing to increase between an adopted infant and our biological daughter, we chose to enter our agency's program for international adoption through Colombia. After redoing an extensive amount of paperwork and completing a new home study, we waited - again - and reviewed referral files for waiting children in Colombia. About a year later, we got a match for two siblings!

Over the last several years, we have received three grants and multiple private donations. We budgeted carefully with the end in sight, but when the "end" changed to international adoption of two children, fees quickly changed. During the last couple months, God has also been taking us through several financial stressors, reminding us that He is the One who ultimately provides.

Adoption is beautiful and adoption is messy. There is no way around it. Please consider consistently praying and/or supporting us financially as we choose the messy places to love and live. Any and all funds will be used solely for adoption fees, some of which are fast approaching in the next month. We will likely travel for placement within the next 2 months. Other opportunities to help (Amazon wish list, a meal train, etc.) will be communicated once we have receive our I-800, visa approvals, and a confirmed travel timeline.
