"The Ends" at Minnesota Fringe Festival 2021

The Ends is a brand new, original production debuting at the Minnesota Fringe Festival in August 2021.
About the show
Not every love story ends happily ever after. The Ends is a collection of short plays that explores the final moments of six different relationships. The stories range from surprising to funny to sad, revealing the complexity and challenges of making relationships work. Written by Eric B. Jacobson and directed by Patrick Russell, this new production features Julia Ennen and Jack Bechard.

About us
We are a group of fun, passionate artists trying to bring some fresh, authentic stories to life. Eric (the playwright and producer) met Patrick (director and professional actor) years ago when he was a student in one of Patrick’s acting classes. When Eric was looking for a director for his new collection of six short plays, he reached out to Patrick, who was excited to help bring these stories to life. Patrick then found Julia and Jack, two Minnesota-based actors, to portray all six romantic(ish) relationships. Then we found a videographer, Josh, and set off to film at some friends’ homes in St. Paul. This is our first venture together and our first foray into the Minnesota Fringe Festival. We’re excited to share these different scenes and take audiences on an emotional journey!
How you can help
While we’re a scrappy bunch doing this on the cheap, making a film takes money and resources. Your donation will help us cover the costs of production, specifically the videography, filming equipment, props, editing, and other expenses for the cast and crew to film on location. Our goal is simply to take care of our cast and crew and try not to lose too much money making this show. That way, hopefully we can continue to share it with audiences after the festival - and maybe be able to bring some other shows to life in the future!
What you get for helping
We want to show you how grateful we are for your support, so in exchange for donations of different amounts, we are giving you some gifts!
Up to $10: A personal thank you plus a high-five (or a socially-distanced wave or an elbow bump, depending on your comfort level post-pandemic)
$25: A personal thank you, a high-five, plus listing your name in our program
$50: All of the above, plus a one-of-a-kind stemless wine glass with the show name!*
$100: All of the above, plus a t-shirt designed exclusively for the show (you specify the size!)*
$250: All of the above, plus a producer credit in the program, a limited edition “The Ends” bottle of red wine (to fill your glass!)* and free admission to our premiere party in St. Paul!**
* Wine glasses, t-shirts, and wine will be ordered in August after the campaign ends, so the plan is to get them to you before the end of that month.
** Premiere party date and time to be confirmed; campaign contributor is responsible for transportation to and from the premiere party.
Why this means so much
Eric grew up as a theater kid, performing in multiple plays and musicals in high school and college, and writing plays of his own during that period. After college, Eric got caught up in other things, and it wasn’t until the pandemic that he returned to his first passion: writing. This production is a way of getting back to his love for theater, and it is a way for Patrick, Jack, and Julia to also return to their love of theater after the pandemic put things on hold. Your support will help make this venture affordable for us, so we can enjoy the fruits of our labors without worrying about the finances, and share our artistic pursuits with our friends, family, and local community.
